Overview
These draft terms describe expected rules for using Availight Duo hardware, the Availight mobile app, the local setup portal, and Availight Cloud beta services.
Availight is designed to help users communicate availability. It is not a safety-critical system, access-control system, medical device, emergency notification system, or guaranteed presence indicator.
Local-First Use
Core local setup and local control should work without an Availight Cloud account. Cloud features are optional and may require internet access, a mobile app, third-party provider authorization, and a claimed Controller.
Availight Cloud Accounts
- Users are responsible for providing accurate account information.
- Users are responsible for keeping account credentials secure.
- Users should connect only devices and calendars they own or are authorized to administer.
- Users should disconnect providers or unclaim devices before transferring ownership.
Third-Party Services
Google Calendar, Microsoft Teams, iCalendar feed providers, Supabase, app stores, and other third-party services may have their own terms and availability. Availight is not responsible for outages, permission changes, provider API limitations, or account restrictions from those services.
Beta Services
- Features may change, fail, or be removed during beta.
- Cloud service availability is not guaranteed during beta.
- Diagnostics may be expanded to troubleshoot reliability while still avoiding sensitive data where possible.
- Users should avoid relying on Availight as the only source of availability communication.
Acceptable Use
- Do not attempt to access devices or accounts you do not own or administer.
- Do not reverse engineer cloud APIs to bypass authentication or rate limits.
- Do not upload malicious firmware or tamper with signed update mechanisms.
- Do not use Availight Cloud to process data without permission from the calendar or account owner.
Firmware And Updates
Availight firmware updates should use signed .avl packages or approved development tools. Users should not disconnect devices during firmware update unless instructed by recovery documentation.
Firmware updates may be required for new cloud features, security fixes, or provider compatibility.
Support
Support may ask for device version, app version, logs, screenshots, and privacy-safe diagnostics. Users should not send Wi-Fi passwords, setup codes, private keys, or provider tokens to support.
